US President Donald Trump’s former doctor has said that he did not write the 2015 letter regarding Mr Trumps then “astonishingly excellent” health.
Harold Bornstein told CNN, “Mr Trump dictated that whole letter. I didn’t write that letter. I just made it up as I went along.”
The letter contained statements that described Mr Trump’s physical condition and stamina as “extraordinary”. His blood pressure and laboratory tests were described as “astonishingly excellent” and that the President had lost 7kg over the course of a year.
A few weeks before the letter was released, Mr Trump said that the medical report made my Mr Bornstein would show “perfection.”
In January this year, Mr Trump underwent medical examinations due to speculation over his health as Mr Trump’s health regime was not known not to be particularly healthy.
The 2015 letter also involved alleged statements from Mr Bornstein that, “If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.”
At 70, Mr Trump is the oldest person ever to be elected into the first term as president.
Mr Bornstein has stepped back into the spotlight after he claimed that Mr Trump’s ex-bodyguard, Keith Schiller, broke into his office and took medical history reports on the President.
The White House has not yet responded to Mr Bornstein’s statements.
